http://www.GamesCentre.co.uk Sony has confirmed that the new game will feature a multiplayer component in which players can create their very own combatants, whom can then sell their souls to one of Greek mythology's finest deities, in return for awesome powers.
Players will be able to side with watery Poseidon, the evil Hades, the ruler of Olympus, Zeus, and, of course, the original God of War himself, Ares. Choices will grant various differing abilities and weapons, and characters will level up further through continued play.
The actual multiplayer doesn't appear to include co-op story play, but local multiplayer will make use of the game's fixed camera system to allow four players to slug it out on screen, Power Stone style.
Online there'll be eight player scraps, and it's been revealed that, Santa Monica may implement a Gears-style horde mode. There are team-based modes though, so it's not totally devoid of some form of co-operative action.
